This is the first officially confirmed report of a bobcat on Cape Cod since Colonial Times.<\/p>\n<p>Rumors of large cats have been circulating on Cape Cod since at least 1981 when the <a title=\"Remember \u201cThe Beast of Truro\u201d?\" href=\"https:\/\/capecodwildlifecalling.com\/remember-the-beast-of-truro\/\">&#8220;The Beast of Truro&#8221; or &#8220;Pamet Puma&#8221;<\/a> was thought to be roaming the outer Cape.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"940\" height=\"705\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XADgGBpT0ys?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>NORTH FALMOUTH \u2014 Local and state wildlife officials have confirmed that a Falmouth man has video of the first documented bobcat on Cape Cod since Colonial times.<\/p>\n<p>Chris LeBoeuf, who lives on Teneycke Hill Road, was returning home around midnight Aug. 9 when he spotted a large feline in his yard, said Chuck Martinsen, deputy director of the Falmouth Department of Marine and Environmental Services.<\/p>\n<p>LeBoeuf said he wasn&#8217;t at first surprised to see an animal \u2014 which he described as about the size of a small- to medium-size dog \u2014 in his yard when he pulled into driveway. His property, located 12 miles from the Bourne Bridge, abuts conservation land, where wildlife thrives, he said.<\/p>\n<p>This animal disappeared into the woods when he drove in, but then it came back out, and stood on top of a rock wall about 8 to 10 feet from where LeBoeuf sat in his car. &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.capecodonline.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=\/20130822\/NEWS\/308220334\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">source<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Last year, a mountain biker claimed to have seen a bobcat in North Truro.
