Coyotes Attack Colorado Man on His AM Walk to Work

coyotes-attack-co-manThree coyotes attacked a Colorado man while he was walking to work in Niwot, CO last week.

Dickehage, 22, had been having car troubles, so at 5 a.m. Monday he was walking on North 73rd Street near Niwot Road on his way to work at CCI, on the IBM campus. That’s when three coyotes attacked him.

CO Wildlife officials reportedly killed two of the three coyotes involved in the attack and are seeking the third.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials offer the following advice if a coyote approaches you:

  • Do not run or turn your back.
  • Be as big and loud as possible.
  • Wave your arms and throw objects.
  • Face the coyote and back away slowly.
  • If attacked, fight back.
